Dr Shweta Kelkar is a young and upcoming ophthalmologist from Pune.
She has completed her DNB ophthalmology from Pune and her 2 year long fellowship from the prestigious Aravind eye care system, Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
She has also pursued her fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology and visual rehabilitation from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne group of hospitals , United Kingdom.
In this period she developed a special interest in Binocular vision, Behavioural vision related issues and vision problems in learning disorders, Autism spectrum disorders, mental retardation, cerebral palsy and children with special needs.
She has worked in depth with students who are poor in their class work in reading and writing and vision therapy in overcoming these disorders.
She has worked with schools for special children and helped in designing their classrooms and education approach depending upon their visual needs. She is attached as a consultant ophthalmologist in Maharashtra medical foundation hospitals.
